About ALU
ALU italy modular merchandising systems and fixtures provide inspiring possibilities for adaptable retail and commercial displays. mei + picchi have been working with ALU italy since the early 1990s, continually evolving over this time. we are excited about moving into the next chapter with ALU, offering more unique merchandising systems to the australian and new zealand markets.
the original tension pole, autopole, inspired the beginning of ALU. autopole was a tool for use in photographic studios. in new york city attending the new york trade fair in 1987, lino manfrotto observed that autopole had moved out of the photographic studio and into retail spaces and window displays. seeing the potential to create versatile, innovative and eclectic display systems, it was the beginning of ALU italy.
since then, ALU has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of merchandising systems and fixtures, and is still owned by the manfrotto family today. like the original autopole, every product range is characterised by versatility which provides the ability to reconfigure freestanding or wall mounted displays easily and quickly, ensuring that the system works for you, your space and your merchandise. this versatility extends beyond the retail environment and into corporate, commercial and domestic applications.
